How to Manually Update Nexus One to Android 2.2 Froyo?

Good news for Google Nexus One owners, Google has commenced rolling out Android 2.2 Froyo officially. You can manually download and install the update using the following procedure.
  1. Download Froyo update from Google, rename the file “update.zip” and place it at root directory of your SD card
  2. Switch off your handset
  3. Holding “Volume Down” key hit Power button
  4. On restart, press “Volume Down” and scroll down to “Recovery”, press Power button and scroll down to “Recovery”
  5. When the triangle with exclamation mark appears, press Power and “Volume Up” buttons simultaneously
  6. On the next screen select “Apply sdcard:update.zip” on the menu
That’s all, Froyo file is installed, select the option to reset your handset. You will be excited to find an overall system improvement with an improved browser speed now.
