BlackBerry Curve 8520 review : Not that Attractive

BlackBerry Curve 8520 is a phone which is not very easy to recommend unless you cannot afford the better looking Curve 8900 or better performing Bold 9700.

  • 2.46" 65K-color TFT display - QVGA.
  • Wi-Fi connectivity.
  • 2 Megapixel camera
  • 512MHz CPU.
  • MicroSD card slot (up to 16GB).
  • 3.5 mm audio jack.
  • Dedicated music keys.
  • DivX and XviD video support.
  • Most of the features do not work unless you have a BlackBerry Internet Service account (plan).
  • Camera features and Performance is not so good.
  • Features such as 3G, TV-out connectivity and radio are not available.
  • Music keys are not very responsive.
  • No GPS receiver Built-in.
With the above critical shortcomings, this model is not suggestible when compared to the near same priced Nokia E71 which has a slightly slower processor but with 3G and GPS. Another such phone is Nokia E63 which doesn’t have GPS or metal body but offers a 3G along Wi-Fi and costs even less than that the Curve 8520. Nokia 6760 slide, Samsung B7320 OmniaPRO are other models you can look for. Finally it depends on how much you need the services of BlackBerry to go for this Model.
