Galaxy S II:
Galaxy S II is the second in the series of Galaxy android smartphones. This phone will have a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED plus screen. The screen is a WVGA capacitive unit, which Samsung claims to be the best display technology in the world beating LCD IPS by a mile. The screen would be having a resolution of 800*1200 pixels.
It would run on Google Android 2.3 and will be powered by a 1 GHz dual core processor. This is said to be the most powerful processor used in a mobile phone. It has a RAM of 512 MB and an internal memory of 32GB.It also has a rear camera of 8 Megapixel and a front facing camera of 2 Megapixel
The phone with such amazing features is only 8.49mm thick and weighs around 116 grams. It would be powered by a 1650 mAh battery. The phone is also equipped with interesting devices such as 3-axis Gyroscope and Accelerometer sensors. The smartphone gives a whole new meaning to the term UI.
The phone will also be offering four branded apps known as hubs. There four hubs include one each for music, games, social networking and a readers hub that will feature a huge collection of eBooks and magazines. The phone can be synced directly with a windows PC without a USB cable. Samsung has partnered with Sybase to bring mobile device management capabilities. Samsung boasts that it is the first Android device to offer on-device encryption
Galaxy Tab 10.1:
Samsung along with Galaxy S II also released the Galaxy Tab 10.1 at the MWC. It has a 10.1 inch 1280x800 WXGA screen and is around 10.9mm thick and weighs only 599 grams. It has an 8 megapixel camera with a capability to record FullHD 1080p video. It is also equipped with a 2 MP camera at the front for video chat. It would run on Android 3.0.
The tablet with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and a CPU speed of 1GHz will be able to match the features of Motorola's Xoom. The tablet would be available with storage capacities of various sizes such as 16GB/32 GB/64 GB. It also features a full HD recording and playback and is equipped with dual surround sound speakers.
The exact prices of the devices are yet to be known and they are expected to be available in March. The devices released by Samsung with their impressive features are sure to make their presence felt worldwide and change the way we look at smartphones and tablets.
