Wikitude Drive for Android Launched!

Wikitude, as you all know about it (if not, it is one of the earliest augmented apps), has been working on this thing for a couple of years and finally they are done. Augmented reality apps are those that use your mobile magnetic compass, camera and GPS to figure out what are you looking at and will be giving you the relevant information about it. They have just launched their new product, known as Wikitude Drive.

Wikitude Drive will overlay direction on the photo that you have captured from your phone camera. That will help you find out where you are standing right now and where you should have to go. Not only that, it will also tell you where the nearby gas station is and if you want to have some food, Wikitude Drive will also guide you to the nearby restaurant. The voice based commands are also included.

“Wikitude Drive revolutionizes mobile navigation. Instead of using a digital map, the driver simply needs to follow a line projected onto his camera view. It all happens in real time”, said Martin Herdina, CEO of Wikitude.

You can get this app for $9.99 and it’s available in the U.S., Mexican and Canadian markets. For UK, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Switzerland and Germany, this app will be released later this year.
